Today's Verse:( Psalm 103:13 )
The Love of God
As a father is kind to his children, so the Lord is kind to those who honor him.
Entrance Hymn:
Let Us Pray
Recite The Doxology:
Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Recite The Act of Contrition:
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I
detest in all my sins, not only because of the loss of heaven and the
pains of hell, but because they offended You, my God, who art all good
and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your
grace, to confess my sins, do penance, and amend my life. Amen.
Recite The Apostles Creed:
I
believe in God, the Father Almighty. Creator of heaven and earth. I
believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by
the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell, and on the
third day he rose again in ful- fillment of the scriptures. He ascended
into Heaven and sits at the right side of God the Father Almighty. He
will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy
Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.
( Genesis 3:9-15 )
Human Disobedience
But the Lord God called out to the man, "Where are you?"
He answered, "I heard you in the garden; I was afraid and hid from you, because I was naked."
"Who told you that you were naked?" God asked. "Did you eat the fruit that I told you not to eat?"
The man answered, "The woman you put here with me gave me the fruit, and I ate it."
The Lord God asked the woman, "Why did you do this?"
She replied, "The snake tricked me into eating it."
God Pronounces Judgement
Then the Lord God said to the snake, "You will be punished for this; you alone of all the animals must bear this curse: From now on you will crawl on your belly, and you will have to eat dust as long as you live. I will make you and the woman hate each other; her offspring and yours will always be enemies. Her offspring will crush your head, and you will bite her offspring's heel."
Alternate 1st Reading:
( Psalm 130:1-8 )
A Prayer for Help
From the depth of my despair I call to you, Lord. Hear my cry, O Lord; listen to my call for help! If you kept a record of our sins, who could escape being condemned? But you forgive us, so that we should stand in awe of you.
I wait eagerly for the Lord's help, and in his word I trust. I wait for the Lord more eagerly than sentries wait for the dawn - than sentries wait for the dawn. Israel, trust in the Lord, because his love is constant and he is always willing to save. He will save his people Israel from all their sins.

The 2nd Reading:
( 2 Corinthians 4:13 - 5:1 )
Spiritual Treasure in Clay Pots
The scripture says, "I spoke because I believed." In the same spirit of faith we also speak because we believe. We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus to life, will also raise us up with Jesus and take us, together with you, into his presence. All this is for your sake; and as God's grace reaches more and more people, they will offer to the glory of God more prayers of thanksgiving.
Living by Faith
For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. for we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.
For we know that when this tent we live in - our body here on earth - is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home He himself has made, which will last forever.
Today's Gospel According to:
( Mark 3:20-35 )
Jesus and Beelzebul
Then Jesus went home. Again such a large crowd gathered that Jesus and his disciples had no time to eat. When his family heard about it, they set out to take charge of him, because people were saying, "He's gone mad!"
Some teachers of the Law who had come from Jerusalem were saying, "He has Beelzebul in him! It is the chief of the demons who gave him the power to drive them out."
So Jesus called them to him and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a country divides itself into groups which fight each other, that country will fall apart. If a family di-vides itself into groups which fight each other, that family will fall
apart. So if Satan's kingdom divides into groups, it cannot last, but will fall apart and come to an end.
"No one can break into a strong man's house and take away his belongings unless he first ties up the strong man; then he can plun-dar his house."
"I assure you that people can be forgiven all their sins and all the evil things they may say. But whoever says evil things againt the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, because he has committed an eternal sin." (Jesus said this because some people were saying, "He has an evil spirit in him.")
Jesus' Mother and Brothers
Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. They stood outside the house and sent in a message, asking for him. A crowd was sitting around Jesus, and they said to him, "Look, your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside and they want you."
Jesus answered, " Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" He looked at the people and said, "Look! Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does what God wants is my brother, my sister, my mother."
This is the word of the Lord
An Interpretation of Today's Readings & Gospel
( By Kristin Armstrong )
Sometimes our affections don't feel momentary or light at all. without considering the backdrop of eternity as our timetable, our suffering in the moment often feels permanent. Without remember-ing to exchange burdens with the Lord, the weight of our present pain can be crushing.
Many times I have been so preoccupied with the difficulty I see and feel, that I forget to look for what is unseen - God's power to transform.
I love saying, "What you focus on expands." When we focus on our suffering, misery grows. When we focus on abundance, on faith, on God's ability to heal and redeem, hope grows. We can change our vision to include the parameters of what is unseen and remember that suffering always produces something valuable on the other side of pain.
Recite: The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom
come, Thy will be done, on earth as it tis in heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but, deliver us
from evil. Amen.
May the Peace of the Lord be with You
