Chris Young Banks Ninth Country Airplay No. 1 With 'Losing Sleep'

  Chris Young

Chris Young notches his ninth No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, and his fourth in succession, as "Losing Sleep" increases 6 percent to 40.1 million audience impressions in the tracking week ending Feb. 4, according to Nielsen Music. It ascends 2-1 on the chart dated Feb. 10 in its 39th frame.
On Hot Country Songs, which blends airplay, streaming and sales data, the track holds at its No. 7 peak.
"I've been kicking off my latest concerts with 'Losing Sleep,' and listening to an arena full of people sing along night after night is seriously beyond amazing," Young tells Billboard. "Much thanks to country radio for giving me my fourth No. 1 in a row."
"Sleep," co-written by Young, is the title track and launch single from his sixth studio LP, which opened atop Billboard's Top Country Albums chart dated Nov. 11.

"Sleep" follows Young's "Sober Saturday Night" (featuring Vince Gill), which topped the Country Airplay chart dated March 18, 2017; "Think of You," with Cassadee Pope (May 14, 2016); and "I'm Comin' Over," which reigned for three weeks, beginning Nov. 28, 2015.
Young, who hails from Murfreesboro, Tenn., first led Country Airplay with his third entry, "Voices." The song completed the longest rise to the top: 51 weeks, over two release cycles, culminating on Feb. 19, 2011.
