Luke Bryan sings "That's My Kind Of Night," and Jimmy Buffett chips in "Margaritaville" from a concert in Brooklyn

The Band Perry performs "If I Die Young" on the ABC year-end special "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" along with Fergie, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Hot Chelle Rae. It's the last iconic New Year's Eve of Clark's life

Williams gets a shot of morphine, then takes what proves to be his final ride in the back seat of his blue Cadillac

Roy Rogers marries Dale Evans at the Flying L Ranch in Murray County, Oklahoma. Rogers is late for the ceremony, delayed when he puts out a fire started by a cigarette butt in another room

Singer/songwriter John Denver is born in Roswell, New Mexico. He straddles pop and country music in the mid-1970s, making him a controversial winner of the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year award for 1975
