Shania Twain Issues Best-Selling Album By Female Artist

1997
Shania Twain's third album, Come On Over, is released.

It's her second album produced by her husband, Mutt Lange, whose golden touch puts a pop sheen on Twain's country sound, resulting in a stunning crossover. The album sells over 20 million copies in America, making it the top-selling country album of all-time and also the biggest seller by a female artist (it is not Lange's best-selling production - that would be the AC/DC album Back in Black).

The songs are all written by Lange and Twain; hits include "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "You're Still the One," an ode to their marriage.
