Brad Paisley & John Fogerty Honor Veterans With 14-Song Performance On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
John Fogerty performs at the 2017 Starkey Hearing Foundation So the
World May Hear Awards Gala at the Saint Paul RiverCentre on July 16,
2017 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
On Monday night (Nov. 6), Brad Paisley and John Fogerty
played a whopping 14 songs in front of Battleship USS Iowa in Los
Angeles ahead of Veterans Day on Nov. 11. The performances were
broadcast as part of Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s concert series, and all 14 are available on Kimmel's YouTube page.
Among the set was a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fortunate Son," Fogerty's former group. The song was released in 1969 and is pegged as one of the more famous protest songs surrounding the Vietnam War.
Before launching into Clearwater Revival's 1969 classic "Proud Mary,"
Paisley told the crowd, "What's gonna be fun is, right now, somewhere in
the world, there are about five or six hundred bands covering this
song, and we're the only one right now with [Fogerty]."
