 Today's Verse:

                  ( James 1:22 )

Hearing and Doing

Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to His word; instead, put it into practice.

 Entrance Hymn:

Let Us Pray

Recite The Act of Contrition:

O my God, I am heartly sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest in all my sins, not only because of the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but because they offended You, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to confess my sins, do penance, and amend my life.  Amen

Recite The Apostles Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty. Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell, and on the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures. He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right side of God the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.   Amen.

The 1st Reading:

            ( Exodus 34:3-6, 8-9 )

The Second Set of Stone Tablets

"No one is to come up with you; No one is to be seen on any part of the mountain; and no sheep or cattle are to graze at the foot of the mountain." So Moses cut two more stone tablets, and early the next morning he carried them up Mount Sinai, just as the Lord had commanded.
The Lord came down in a cloud, stood with him there, and pronounced his holy name, the Lord. The Lord then passed in front of him and called out, "I, the Lord, am a God who is full of com- passion and pity, who is not easily angered and who shows great love and faithfulness.
Moses quickly bowed down to the ground and worshiped. He said, "Lord, if you really are pleased with me, I ask you to go with us. These people are stubborn, but forgive our evil and our sin, and accept us as your own people."

Alternate 1st Reading:

            ( Daniel 3:2-5 )

Nebuchadnezzar Commands Everyone to Worship a Gold Statue

Then the king gave orders for all his officials to come together - the princes, governors, lieutenant governors, commissioners, Treasures, judges, magistrates, and all the other officials of the provinces. They were to attend the dedication of the statue which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. When these officials gathered for the dedication and stood in front of the statue, a herald announced in a loud voice, "People of all nations, races, and languages! You will hear the sound of the trumpets, followed by the playing of oboes, lyres, zithers, and harps; and then all the other instruments will join in. As soon as the music starts, you are to bow down and worship the gold statue that Kink Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

The 2nd Reading:

              ( 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 )

Final Warnings and Greetings

And now, my friends, goodbye! Strive for perfection; listen to my appeals; agree with one another; live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
Greet one another with the kiss of peace.
All of God's people send you their greetings.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Today's Gospel According to:

                 ( John 3:16-18 )

Jesus and Nicodemus

For God so loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.
Those who believe in the Son are not judged; but those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not be- lieved in God's only Son.

This is the word of the Lord

An Interpretation of Today's Readings & Gospel
( By Sr. Joyce Rupp, O.S.M. )

On this feast of The Most Holy Trinity, we read about the mystery and beauty of the triune divine presence.Moses is alone on Mount Sinai and told by God to remain unaccompanied, that, "even the flocks and the herds are not to go grazing" (Exodus 34:3) where he is standing. Imagine the ethereal atmosphere of this scene; the mountain is fogged in, only objects close up can be identified. Moses can see little beyond himself. Suddenly, he knows he is no longer alone. As he feels unsettled by this unseen presence, he hears his name being called. So great was the power of this voice that Moses instinctively bows "down to the ground in worship" (verse 8). And then he hears the most amazing portraal of this mysterious presence. The description instantly dissipates Moses' fear and astounds his faith; "a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity" (verse 6).

Recite: The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it tis in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but, deliver us from evil.  Amen.

May the Peace of the Lord be with You
